LILLIES FOR HOPE

Support. Strength. Future.

Where flowers bloom, so does hope.  Through our commitment comes a future free of childhood cancer.

INSPIRATION

Inspired by the short yet vital life of Lilly Fish – Lillies for Hope is a not-for-profit Fund out to make an impact.  Our mission is to raise money for much needed research into childhood cancer, particularly Wilm's tumour.  Our biggest and wildest dream – through our efforts and your kindness, the survival rate for children with cancer is significantly increased.  And in the process, we get to improve the lives of their parents and siblings.

Lilly’s story

Lilly Fish was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer of the kidney called Wilm's tumour at just four years of age.  She was much like the flower we named her after – delicate, beautiful and her time with us only short.  Although Wilms often has a very high (85%) remission rate, it was with heavy hearts that in July 2014, we lost Lilly at the tender age of just six and a half.  We named the fund in Lilly’s honour, so that her spirit lives on as a symbol of determination and hope.  Her character and personality will be felt through everything we do in this project and will push us to keep going – to never, ever, give up.

OUR MISSION

Our main ambition is to raise as much money as we possibly can to assist with finding a cure for childhood cancer. All funds raised by Lillies for Hope are held in trust with the Children's Cancer Foundation and will be used to fund research and provide support. Through our personal struggles and the experience of having a child diagnosed with Wilm's tumour, we have found inspiration to support other families through the treatment of their loved one. We wanted this for our Lilly and believe that all paediatric cancer patients should have the best opportunities and supporting network available to them. The Children's Cancer Foundation offer many in-hospital services which we feel are vital for children receiving treatment.
